Zabava na Dunavu | Having fun at the Danube
Two grandmas fishing in the Danube river, the river of Vukovar city (croatian city boarding Serbia). These women are full of flowers as a symbol of peace, rebirth and live, as they survived the tragedy of Croatian War of Independence (less than 25 years ago). These women represent all the people who still live in this damaged city, trying to rebuild their lives. I tried to give them a bit of humor, colour and hapiness.
I can’t explain the experience I had here, a place where you can still feel the pain and sadness in every bullet hole in the houses, walls, signs...
