COMPARTIENDO MUROS

Madrid

We’re thrilled to finally present Marina Capdevila’s new mural, created in March 2025 at Colegio Público Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, as part of Madrid City Council’s program “Compartiendo Muros”, Sharing Walls.

This vibrant intervention invites us to imagine an inclusive, sustainable, and energetic future: one where generations meet and learn from each other. With her signature blend of humor and tenderness, Capdevila challenges stereotypes about aging, celebrating older people as active, vital figures engaged with their communities.

“Technology and sustainability go hand in hand for the
well-being of the community”.

A concept powerfully embodied in this piece, reminding us that the future is built together, across all ages.

In the mural, modern grandmothers, on skateboards, wearing sunglasses, and surrounded by lush greenery, become symbols of sustainable mobility, accessible technology, and intergenerational cooperation. The work reflects how tradition and modernity can coexist without losing identity, and how today’s children can envision a fairer, more collaborative future.

The project also included talks and participatory workshops with students, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and reflection on desirable futures.

With Dani’s assistance on this mural, Marina transformed the school’s façade into a celebration of connection and progress.
